Rich DiDomenico

Rich DiDomenico

In Memoriam
March 6, 1942 – May 13, 2026

WLCB lost a beloved friend on May 13, 2026. Rich DiDomenico was very active behind the scenes onboarding new members, training them on station resources, and always became their new friend. We don’t know if he ever truly knew how big of an impact he had on WLCB and all of us personally.

Rich simply enjoyed contributing his time to the organization, doing whatever he could to help out, and spending time with the new friends he made. He managed the day-to-day operation of the station, onboarding new members, maintaining paperwork, and even taking on tasks requiring him to learn new skills. He learned how to manage Office 365, adding and deleting members and training them on how to access their email and all of the resources available to them. He was a bigger asset to both WRLR and WLCB than he realized, and he will be deeply missed.

Obituary

Richard M. DiDomenico “Rich”: 84 years old of Fox Lake, IL passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Northwestern McHenry Hospital, McHenry, IL, surrounded by his family. He was born March 6, 1942, in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Richard and Mary (nee Quercio) DiDomenico, having lived in the Midwest all of his life, before settling in Fox Lake, IL in 2023. He generously volunteered with WRLR and WLCB radio stations, where he enjoyed serving as a disc jockey, helping set up live remote broadcasts, and supporting membership and donation efforts. Music was one of Rich’s greatest joys, whether he was listening, recording, or sharing it with others. Rich especially loved spending time with the girls in his life: his wife, daughters, and granddaughters. On March 17, 1967, Rich married Patricia Paprocki in Oak Park, IL.

Survivors include: his wife of 59 years, Patricia; three daughters: Kimberly (Eddie Hodel) DiDomenico, Jennifer Clauson, and Cat (Dave) Farrell; four grandchildren: Leah Rolland, Lainey Clauson, Lola Farrell, and Luca Farrell; two siblings: Marlene Doles and Robert (Sylvia) DiDomenico; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Thomas Doles.

A Celebration of Rich’s Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the Strang Funeral Home of Antioch. In lieu of flowers, donations to WLCB 101.5 are appreciated in Rich’s memory.
